About jonny maia

  Jonathan (Jonny) Maia is a Latin Grammy-awarded Brazilian music producer and sound engineer recognized in the domestic and international music scenes.
 
 He has worked with several artists such as Lulu Santos, IveteSangalo, Michel Telo, Claudia Leite, Carlinhos Brown, Seu Jorge, Marcelo Jeneci, Tiago Iorc, Vinicius D’black, among other popular Brazilian artists.
   
  In 2019, he participated as a recording engineer for the album Reconstrução by Tiago Iorc alongside notable producers and sound engineers, including Mário Caldato Jr, Roberto Pollo, Robert Carranza, among other well-known names in the industry. The album received two nominations for the 2019 Latin Grammy Awards, and won the Latin Grammy for Best Song in Portuguese with “Deconstruction.”

  By invitation from musician and producer Torcuato Mariano, author of the album Escola Brasileira, Jonny contributed to the album as a recording engineer in 2018, and brought together notable artists such as Djavan, Marcelo Camargo Mariano, Hamilton de Holanda, and Carlinhos Brown.
 
  For ten years, Jonny integrated with Rede Globo, where he worked as a recording engineer for entertainment programs, including “The Voice Brasil,” which received or awarded Globo Entertainment 2014, and “The Voice Kids”, which was nominated for Emmy 2017, Super Star and Pop Star.
  

  In 2016, he received the Entertainment Profession and Audio Capture award from the Institute of Arts and Communication Techniques (IATEC).
 
  Jonny is the son, grandson, and nephew of musicians. At the age of five, he was already studying drums. During his childhood and adolescence, he spent time working with multiple instruments and ultimately chose the double bass, which he learned during courses at the Villa-Lobos school in Rio de Janeiro.
 
  Later, he professionalized and took audio courses at the Institute of Arts and Communication Techniques (IATEC) and graduated in phonographic production in the Estácio de Sá course.
 
  Currently living in the United States, Jonny Maia seeks to improve his musical talent by surrounding himself with the best artists in the industry. He has been developing his skills in several studios and master classes, such as Capitol Studio, East West, and NRG.
